I'm Bagus Aji, a fullstack mobile app developer.

I help clients confidently launch Android & iOS apps in the App Store with their technology of choice.

My programming journey started in 2012 when I was a freshman in Computer Science Education at Indonesia University of Education. I was taking Algorithm I with the C Programming Language. Coming from a background of vocatinal high school with some basic computing skills, learing to program was an interesting experience for me.

Fast forward to 2017, due to my skills in writing programming I was invited to join the company of my senior as an Editor. Here I work for about a year before transitioning to a trainer.

Codepolitan

Codepolitan was my very first company I joined before graduation ceremony. At this company I work with multiple roles and my first role was a writer plus editor. I wrote programming tutorials and editing community submitted articles. One year at the company, they started an offline-based training with Android class and I moved to a trainer role.

Back then when I teach my first class, I’m not actually proficient in Android development. I know how to develop an app, but teaching it to others was still difficult (since I’m not actually understand many things). But, due to the needs to keep learning and upgrading my skills, slowly I grasp the secrets of native Android development.

Freelancing

Beside my main job as a trainer, I also started freelancing. I built apps for clients mostly through word-of-mouth referral. Fortunately, my main job requires me to meet new peoples with different background with a needs for an Android app development. I got many opportunities from them. One of my student becoming my supervisor at current company.

Logique

After three years working, finally I changed career from a trainer to a fulltime mobile developer. I got the job through my connection with a former student at previous work.

I started as an outsourced Android developer, but since the company needs dedicated developer then I did some interviews before securing the job.

Current Activity

I’m still working at Logique, they paid me well and the jobs was not very hard. I also have times to explore many things other than my main job.

My main goal for 2023 is to explore more on UI/UX design and web programming. I know, I know that becoming a generalist was not recommended, but I have many ideas which only applicable by writing web code. I’m going to write my experience on approaching web development on this site.
